Did you hear that? ”The biggest problem I have with today’s preaching is that it doesn’t prepare people for pain” says the American gospel singer,Kirk Franklin.
You know,a lot of people actually think that knowing God is getting out of trials and tribulations. It is not true. It is a lie,a big lie! If you tell me that knowing God would keep you away from consequences of sins,I would gladly agree with you. For example,a person who avoids fornication or adultery cannot contact HIV/AIDS and bear its consequences because,knowing God will always move him to obey his commandment to stay away from sin. Am sounding like a preacher right? Yes I am!*wink*
Again Kirk Franklin says: ”As soon as they have a problem,they think that something’s wrong or God has let them down.” It is true! In fact a lot of people who go to church might not continue if their problems in life persist. I don’t know if they are not aware that the scriptures assure Christ followers to expect trials and tribulations in their life.So what is happening? Are they running away from their belief and destiny?
Finally he says: ”God making you greater is God making you deeper. God will never do something FOR you if he can’t do something IN you” . It is this one that I don’t understand. Honestly I don’t. What does that mean??
Honestly speaking,pastors and preachers should tell their members and followers the truth.The truth that this world is not a problem or trouble free world. Read your Bible,you should have one for yourself, Yes,you should. Check from Genesis down to Revelation and tell me which of God’s servants in the past lived freely without problems. Moses? Jeremiah? Ruth and Naomi,Apostle Paul? Peter? or even God’s own son Jesus Christ?
