According to loveisrespect, however, “dating” is defined as two (or possibly more than two) people in an intimate relationship. The relationship may be sexual, but it doesn’t have to be. It may be serious or casual, straight or gay, committed or open, short-term or long-term.
Now,let’s take it one at a time. This means that people could date just at friendship level,and nothing more than that. The relationship may be sexual, but it doesn’t have to be. If this is the type of relationship involved,it will not be anything wrong for someone’s friend to date her friend’s ex. It is not wrong because,the intention of the relationship between her friend and a man was not one for marriage,but just a relationship on a platform,which will definitely end some day. When it ends,we mean the relationship that has no marriage intentions ends,the man can date someone else,who wants relationship that will lead to marriage. Whether the person is a friend to his ex or not does not matter. What matters is that she is someone else,who is serious for marriage and not just for friendship.
From the second definition of dating ”The relationship may be sexual, but it doesn’t have to be. It may be serious or casual, straight or gay, committed or open, short-term or long-term.” Now,this is where it is wrong for someone to marry his or her friend’s ex : ”If the relationship was serious,and committed,whether it was short or long term relationship.” For crying out loud,if your friend’s relationship crashes,the right thing to do is not to quickly dash into your friend’s ex,but to go look for someone else even if the man himself is asking you out.. If you begin to date your friend’s ex as soon as they have issues,then,you would have been the reason why they have a breakup.
We have records of lovers who broke up for 3,4,5,years and later made up again. That is evidence of love. If their friends have gone after their exes, and spoilt something on the way,would there still be returns of their lost relationships?
